DIY Gift Wrapping

Not only can you personalize a homemade gift, but you can take it a step further by personalizing the wrapping paper as well.  Think outside of the box with this project, there is no right or wrong.

Wrapping Style #1

Starting with the smaller box, I wrapped the cover and the container separately with the wrapping paper.

Wrap the container and cover and tape down.

Complete both parts of the box for decoration.

For this wrapping, I chose to create an aztec pattern.  I simply googled an image of an aztec pattern so I had something to follow.  Line up rows on your box, varying in width.  With your markers, begin making patterns with shapes and lines.

I went ahead and added the name of the recipient and some glittery studs to give it some depth.

Wrapping Style #2

Wrap your box with solid gift wrap.

I chose to use the recipient’s initial as the decoration.  Using a pencil, outline the initial in a fun font.

Using your glue stick, outline the pencil and firmly attach the yarn onto the outline.  Add some sparkly buttons or any other fun attachments.

  1. I am totally doing this for all of my gifts! What a fantastic way to personalize gift wrapping without having to be all “Martha Stewart”-like. Love it!
