Blonde vs. Brunette – Spring 2013 Work Wardrobe

Blonde vs. Brunette

Every Friday, we are going to do a fashion challenge.  In these challenges, we will go to an affordable clothing store and pick out outfits.  Each will highlight our personal style and fashion personality.  We will include the store name and prices.  We chose to visit a store instead of using our closet because so many times we have seen outfits and wished we could recreate them only to find out they were purchased years ago.

The first month our challenges will just be to pick out an outfit for a specific event.  This week we are shopping for our spring work wardrobe at Target.

Blonde’s Pick

Cream collared blouse – $19.99

Leopard print pencil skirt – $22.99

Vest with mesh detailing on side and back – $27.99

Semi-point black pumps – $29.99

I chose these pieces because they are versatile while being classic and practical.  Each piece is a staple for any wardrobe.  For work, I would wear a simple stud and pair that with my short chained monogram necklace.

Brunette’s Pick

Navy Peter Pan Collar top – $19.99

Chartreuse Pencil skirt – $22.99

Low Wedge nude Sandal – $22.99

I love pairing a nude sandal with a pop of neon.  The navy peter pan collar top adds some darkness and keeps this look fresh.  I would finish the look with my go-to gold stud earrings and a simple, thin, gold watch.

  1. I LOVE a neutral shoe, but sometimes (lately) I haven’t been able to find a pair I love and is versatile for various outfits! Where do you suggest?!

    PS~ LOVE the site!

    • Thank you for the support! We agree-neutral shoes go with EVERYTHING; neons, other neutrals, bright colors. I tend to buy my shoes online because unlike clothing, I am generally the same size, no matter the brand or style. For an inexpensive neutral shoe, try Forever21.com, Target.com, or urbanoutfitters.com. I also like to browse the sale items on some of the more pricey websites: zara.com, asos.com, topshop.com. For versatility, stick with a simple, sleek look. GOOD LUCK! xx
